December 21, 2007Hey all, I have a question about my steering. I have a 04 hemi sport qc with 48000 miles. My truck pulls hard to the right all the time not just braking. I am starting to lose power steering fluid but don't know where it is comming from. Does anyone know if it could be the RACK AND PINION and what are the signs for failure. If it is does anyone know what the dealer will charge or if there is someplace better to take it. Thanks,,,Shirley Jo

December 21, 2007There was a thread a while back about a bad clamp on one of the power steering pump hoses. It seems like at the factory they didn't put it on tight or in the proper position. I looked around for the thread but couldn't find it, but that would be a starting point since you say you are losing power steering fluid.
Otherwise, it sounds more like an alignment issue to me. Take it in for a check, and make sure your right side front tire isn't low on air pressure.
If it is the rack and pinion, that should be covered under warranty, if your warranty is still good.
December 21, 2007I already changed the clamp, I made sure all my tires were at the right air pressure and nope I don't think its under warr. That only goes to 36000 miles and the powertrain is to 70,000....Shirley Jo
